How do we find the right motive?
It all started during a semester abroad in California, USA, when Melvyn wanted to get a tattoo, but was not sure which spot and motive to choose.
He looked for a natural option for a tattoo test and after hours of research, he found information about a mysterious fruit that originated from the Jungle.
Straight from the Jungle
Jagua Fruit
Fueled by the start-up culture of California, and thrilled about the Jagua Fruit, he began to think about introducing the fruit to European people.
He wrote the first business plan at university and brought Michi on board.
Back in Germany
We started with work right away
The first step was to develop the natural Inkster Ink. We brought all necessary raw materials and tried hundreds of different compositions of our ink to achieve the best tattoo experience for you.

Inkster goes Instagram
We started an instagram account and shared pictures of minimalist, small tattoos that we liked.
After just a few months, we had thousands of followers and were able to make valuable connections with great tattoo artists who created our designs.

Before university offered us an office, we did most of the design work and material samples in Melvyn's student room.
And even though the room was way too small for that, we managed to achieve the best results for you there.

Our friends have supported us in testing the first tattoos and always had a lot of fun with it.
The typical question was:
"Who would like to have a new tattoo?"
Tinker hours
The first tube design
Sometimes you just have to start tinkering to get a better idea of things.
That's how we did it with our tube design and were able to design everything according to our ideas. Everything in black has simply convinced us and we hope you too!

Founding competition
In 2020, we won a founding competition, got supported by the university and got a Founding Scholarship, which makes us incredibly happy and proud.

The Inkster Team
